SEMI OR FULL RESTORATIONS

For this process DLR will be applying a new finish to your leather using tannery grade color system. The process is comprised of cleaning all dirt and oil build up, priming the leather for proper adhesion, custom color matching, air brush application of color, and a new top coat to prevent wear and create moisture resistance. We can keep the natural patina of your leather or make a new finished look. We can even offer slight color change in some cases.

Cleaning and Conditioning 

Cleaning lifts dirt and oil while correcting pH. Dirt and especially oils that transfer from our skin and pets can degrade your leathers color and fibers over time. It is recommended that you clean your leather every 6-12 months depending on how much its used. If we clean or restore your pieces we can teach you how to care for them and what products to use.

Conditioning keeps leather soft, supple, locks in moisture, adds stain and wear resistance as well as UV resistance with a sheer protective top coating. We recommend our Leather Protector treatment for brand new pieces. For older faded pieces, conditioning can bring back the vibrancy of your lack luster leather. We even offer deep moisture treatments when needed as with chaffed leather.

OIL EXTRACTION

For heavily soil areas that have a dark ring or areas where you see color coming off. This is from oils that have accumulated over time, from both human and animal contact. This usually occurs on head rests and arm rests. These oils must be extracted before we can restore the area with color. If left untreated the oils will break down the leather causing it to rot and lose its strength . Extraction if done in time can prevent the leather from breaking down.

CUSHION STUFFING

If  your cushions have zippers we can add additional stuffing to return your cushions back their factory shape. If new webbing or foam is needed we can provide solutions for your budget. Sometimes sagging leather is a result from a loss of volume in the foam and cushions.

Stain and Damage REPAIR

We can repair many different stains like ink, nail polish, burger grease, pet urine, wine, blood and even water. Do not use stain removal tricks you see online like baking soda or alcohol, these will only make your stain bigger or damage you dye and texture. We can repair most rips, cuts and tears or sew seams that need new stitching. We pride ourselves in repairing dog and cat scratches and can make them to be almost unnoticeable if not completely hidden. Larger areas of damage can benefit from panel replacement followed by custom coloring to match the rest of the existing leather.
